Summary / Purpose of Position: This position's primary responsibility is to improve the efficiency and productivity of our Thrift Store Operations. This position assesses development needs across all Thrift Operations to drive training initiatives and identify and arrange suitable training solutions for both new and existing employees. This position actively develops and implements effective training methods designed to educate and enhance performance within Thrift Operations.

      

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Recruitment/Onboarding

  • Shepherds all thrift new hires through the onboarding process (background check, completion of all new hire paperwork)
  • Facilitates weekly New Hire Orientation in partnership with Human Resources Generalist I to ensure timely and smooth onboarding of new employees.
  • Supports Human Resources team with the ministry tour associated with New Hire Orientation.
  • Provides HRIS system support to Thrift Operations in regards to recruiting and timekeeping.
  • Advises staff members on benefit matters, contacts and processes.

Training and Development

  • Develop and execute training and development programs and objectives for new employees and existing employees where performance improvement is needed in partnership with the store manager.
  • Trains and collaborates with Thrift Operations Leadership, Thrift managers, supervisors and others involved in employee training and development efforts.
  • Maintains good communication and coordination with members of Thrift Management and Senior Leadership to ensure training and development programs align with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Continually measure and assess the effectiveness of training and development, and staffing performance needs working in partnership with Thrift management.
  • Effectively coach, teach and train through a variety of learning and training styles to provide the support needed to help employees succeed and get desired results.
  • Assists the HR Team in the coordination of the annual All Staff Meeting.
  • Participates in ministry wide programs and initiatives.
  • Have a willingness to share the good news of Jesus Christ, give a personal testimony and pray with/for those served by the ministry.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:        

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities

Qualifications:    

  • Education or equivalent experience: BA in a related field with at least 5 years of retail and human resources or related work experience with 3 of those in a leadership role. Ability to stay composed under pressure.
  • Years of experience: 5+
  • Specialized training required: HR expertise, talent development or direct leadership training experience
  • License/Certification:
  • Other: Experience in Human Resources and Thrift Operations a plus.
